Block 2 Elementary Education Practicum (120 hours)
I am currently in block II practicum at Lewis & Clark Elementary School in Mandan with Mrs. Christina Biesecker-Severson and her 5th grade class. I have been teaching and implementing lessons in Reading, Social Studies, Science, Math, and Art. This has been a great experience thus far and I have learned more about myself and teaching. I have had the opportunity to sit in on a PLC and assist the 5th grade teachers with PBL groups. I have worked with a student who's first language is Spanish. Block 1 Elementary Education Practicum (90 hours)
In the spring of 2019, I was a practicum student in Mrs. Katelyn Sorum's 2nd grade class at Liberty Elementary School in Bismarck. I taught Language Arts and Art lessons. I had the opportunity to attend PLC's and grow as an educator. During this experience, I worked with a student who had autism. I would guide this student by using a step by step process.

I have collaborated with others to take part in Marketplace for Kids at the Heritage Center, the Pumpkin Unparade at Papa's Pumpkin Patch, and St. Bernard Mission School in Standing Rock. Science Discovery Dome Training
In my Science Methods course, I had the opportunity to be trained on how to use the Discovery Dome and different ways that we could implement it to impact student learning. |
